BAM! BAM! Ammo record sheets

14 Oct

I like my players to keep a track of their ammo. I like the tension and decision-making imposed by having to pay attention to the number of rounds left in a gun. A while back I made a printer-friendly ammo record sheet to help them out. I’ve uploaded it here in case others find it helpful.

example of the ammo track in useIn my upcoming Vampire the Requiem campaign, I plan to track the player’s ammo for them, making them roll against Composure + Firearms to realise how many bullets they have remaining. That and concealed health tracks (again, relevant skill checks will let them gain an insight as to how injured they are) will help to add extra drama to combat without taking up any additional time.

I do something similar but different with little cards with a weapons picture on the front and an ammo counter on the back that is based off this design.

Sounds cool. I think these sorts of ammo records are best used for games that require a realistic approach to gun play. In a pulp game I’d never use one and let the gun run out of ammo on a bad roll or something.
